The car is realtively original except for the 38/38 carb which is what makes this car so damn fast. Artiksblau (sp?) AKA grey which is in decent shape (but not the original color) ..has a few scratches and chips but no dents ..some bubbles beginnig to show ..!80k on original motor. Blows a little bit of smoke on deacceleration but nothing major.Electronic ignition. Perfect dash. Great carpets. Seats are lacking and should be replaced or restuffed. Momo wood wheel. New stainless steel brake lines. Nice Michelins. New exhuast. Always garaged. Hasn't seen a winter ever since the original owner took care of the usual rust spots ie. shock towers.
Now for the bad ..which isn't that bad. Driver's side rocker panel has about a 9 inch area of rust in front of the rear tire. Spare tire well is typically perforated with rust but a new panel can be inserted. Small dent above the grills on nose panel from a 10 MPH run in. Dent can be tolerated ..pulled out ..or replaced with the rust free nose panel I have.
The car is all there. Great as a daily driver and perfect for someone who wants to fully restore it.
I can e mail pictures to those who are serious about trading their 80 or 81 528i.
