I'm assuming the M means Motorsport, but what are the differences in performance ? My dad is a Land Rover master technician (yes, I know, not even the same nationality car, but he knows enough) and he said that inline 6 cylinder engines should almost hum at idle. Mine doesn't, it's not uncomfortable shaking or anything, but it does shake noticably. Any ideas or is that a symptom of many different problems ?

This link leads to a list of service bulletins and recalls on the 1981 528i. Only one recall, and that seems rather recent to me, my question is; is there any place I can find copies of the bulletins on the internet ? Or is that more a BMW technician only access thing ?
