Why wouldn't the 2002 comments also apply to e12s? (archive)

If the e12 thing baffles you, maybe your better off with an Accord or Camry or something along that line. Its obviously a passion you don't share and thats fine. If everyone felt the way the rest of this board does about the e12 there wouldn't be enough to go around for those of us who do understand why we like the car. I do not like the reputation that the newer BMW's have as being a yuppy car, or snobmobile. I however, don't feel that my 76 BMW is included in this stereotype. (Maybe its age or something)

Most people also don't realize that my car is almost 26 years old. The styling is fairly current, and came equiped with options that where unavailable on the average car in 1976.

It is a valid question, but you will probably not get a standard answer from any two owners. If you get a chance to ride/drive one, it will not be like current technology, but it does have a certain charm.

If your going by looks, an e12 in bad shape is admittedly not much to look at, but an e12 in top condition makes for a nice looking sedan.

Hope you can find some kind of answer from the responses on this board, and welcome if you are a BMW owner.

All the best,
Randy
