When I put a 3.5 engine into the car I had the original radiator cleaned out at local shop. It was solid, they patched one little leak raather than recore.

That works real well. My son and I took turns with that car at a drivers school in Kansas, in August. Drivers gave up in the heat, but not that car. The car never got a chance to cool off, but the temp gage never got over 3/4.

If you keep the cooling system clean, you don't need bigger.
