This one was a one-piece for about $45. Very easy to do.

No mileage counter like on 528i. Specially-machined 8X20MM set screw secures it to the cable drive gear.

Be careful because unsecured retaining collar in transmission can fall out during replacement thereby dumping gear lube all over the floor! Don't ask me how I know this!

Set screw holds the retaining ring and speedo cable in place.
