Hi guys!

I need advice on replacing the exhaust on an E12. Any advice would be appreciated.

Our '80 528i needs a complete exhaust. The replacement option that people were recommending some time ago was to go to a performance shop, and have a custom system made, to include:

2 x 1-7/8" or 2" downpipes
2-to-1 collector (with 2.5" outlet)
Oxygen sensor plug at some point
Hi-flow 2.5" cat
2.5" single pipe to rear (no resonator)
Performance muffler (or 524td muffler)

My question is: is this still the recommended set-up for a 20 year old car that you don't want to spend TOO much $$ on?

Many thanks for your advice/recommendations,
Ken Mitchell
