No, all the E-23's used a different type of differential than the E-12's. Yours is called a sideloader for the obvious reason that the ring gear goes in from the side. The 7's, E-28 5's and 83 and later 6's used a completely different diff. The tranny would fit, albiet with a different driveshaft and perhaps no speedo drive since the 7's had an electronic speedo driven a sensor on the diff.
