I got a 530 fixer upper that came with seats and floor carpet uninstalled from a 81 528i. I have started to try and install it and find that there seems to be quite a difference. I never had the original carpet, so I am wondering if it is just me or actually the carpet.
I know so many other parts are interchagable I wonder if any of you have tried putting the carpet from a latter 528i in the 530i.

Floor pan arrangement for the 75-79 E12's is different than the 1980-81 cars. Seats bolt in completely differently..... early cars have a steel platform that is part of the floorpan (similar to a 2002).... on later cars this is not there

The carpet won't fit.
