Hi

Sounds a bit weird - our '81 M has the viscous coupling type fan - removing this just being a case of undoing the centre bolt (ignoring the other four, smaller bolts that you can see)... withdrawing the stepped spacer underneath... sliding off the fan. The friction coupling type - had it on a 528 - has lockplates that you just flatten and then unscrew the four bolts to remove the fan.


How do I remove the fan which appears to have clips covering/holding a face plate. How do I remove those clips...?
