Clips?? Do you mean the heat&A/C fan?
If so, when you open the clips on the black plastic housings on both ends you can take the covers off the fans. It takes some fiddling around to figure out the angle to work them out. Then there's a similar strap and clip that holds the motor itself to its mount.
I've never seen clips on the engine fan, just a nut on the end of the water pump shaft. I think that's the one that loosens by turning clockwise.
