I wanted someone to suggest that because I have a spare 528i engine with manifolds and complete exhaust that I pulled from a donor and was hoping that I could use. I will proceed with the switchover now.

Funny though. No one has ever given me reason to believe that before. I will keep the damn thermal until the new manifold is bolted and running down the exhuast.
Thanks again.
Craig

The Bavaria seems to be the most popular replacement, but the 528i manifold will work just fine, it is the same engine, block, etc. Just a 3MM difference in bore, along with the engine management but that is just bolt on. Both bolt up fine, but both will require further work to connect the rest of the exhaust.
