BMW redesigns one model every 6 years; the current 5 series (e39) came out as a '97; there was no '96 5 series model. So that means the new 5 comes out in 2003. I haven't seen a picture yet; but, if BMW follows the pattern it will probably look a lot like the new 7.

Wondering if anyone has information regarding the new 5 series,what year is it going to be redone, what it looks like, etc. My wife has a 328 and wants to move up to a 5 series but doesn't want to buy it now and six month or a year later the car gets redone and so on....
I will appreciate any information.
