I just acquired an 1982 528e. I surrendered a tired Saab 900T for it. Now I have a dozen questions about upgrading the car (particular the transmission, man are the ratios long on this one) as well as general information type inquires.

I am not sure what "E code" it is (not even sure if I am in the right forum or not). I would like to learn more about the 528e. Can someone point me in the right direcion for information. I am hoping there is a FAQ section somewhere I can look at.

I have found out how to use most of the buttons, etc. however can someone tell me what the switch to the right of the fog light switch is for? I has two settings and when I activate it nothing happens. the owner's manual doesn't speak to the switch.
