Looking at E12 for sale... (archive)

Howdy y'all,
I post regular to the E28 board, but I wanted some opinion here. Today I had a quick look at a 1980 528i, Manual trans (5spd?) 168K, Black leather int. Looks like Hennarot paint, 14" alloys, body fairly straight, paint a little oxidized but not beyond saving, interior looked pretty good, the asking price is $1750.00. It's a US spec car. I did not drive it, or hear it run, or speak to the owner yet. Everything I've heard about this year and model is good, and it looked pretty good as old Bimmers go, so is this a reasonable price? What should I beware of? I'm probably going to drive the car tomorrow, don't know if I'll buy it or not, but will be happy to pass the info on to others if anyone interested. Car is in Tualatin, OR. TIA for any info.
