Does anyone drive their 528i in the winter?

How does the engine react to the cold weather?

I expect that its not great in slippery conditions, b/c of rear wheel drive and longer wheel base. I am more worried about starting the car in 10 degrees fernheit (that will be the lowest, other wise I'll stay home!)

If your wondering where I live, I live in Halifax, NS.

you live in a mountains region, in which case only awd and studs will suffice. A rwd Bimmer w/studs works fine for most snow/ice (on mainly flat stuff) it will not work quite as good a fwd though.

As for cold temps... I've driven a E12 in -30 deg F weather... car always started, heater worked fine --the car worked like a champ considering I was driving 90 mph the whole time!
