The 4 speed comes in two flavours, the electronic (EH) and non electronic version. The latter will not pose a problem to my opinion, the EH version has a bad reputation, but if it is maintained well (oil and filter changes) and it shifts without shocks/strange noises, I think it won't give too much trouble. If not maintained well and/or it doesn't shift smoothly, then leave it.

Further, be careful with emission tests, when run at higher idles for a prolonged time in P or N it will certainly fail if not upgraded.
