I've had a 320i and I loved the car dearly. I rebuilt the engine and then it really had some pep with only 120HP (well, I did put a mild cam in it). A 5/sp was installed and it got a bit better gas mileage. But it always seemed a bit soft and a little too short to really handle well. Then I got a 325es, , ,and it was night and day. I sold the 320i immediately. I still have the 325 and for the same price (parts are cheap)as I could get the 320 (E-12's are cheap also). With the 325, I had two or three times the car as the 320. It handles way better. You can chip them for 145HP. They ride way better. I get 26/32 m/gal. The suspension is better and simpler. I also have a Motorsport Version of the M535i (E-12). I love this car. I don't have the space here to point out all of the great things. It's just a different 'beast'. E-12's are family cars in sheeps clothing. Fast, efficient, handle excellently, etc, etc, etc. If you are looking to upgrade, get a 'rustless' E-12 or save an '84 to '86 325/e/es. You won't be sorry for the rest of your life. Bye
