The difference is the motronic basicly doesn't have a distributor which you obviously need. There is an adapter that screws on the front of the camshaft that has the notch in it. I have never used one, but I have heard they are available widely or from Metric Mechanics. You will also need your old upper timing cover and might have to use your old oil pan and a early type oil pump. I don't know on that one, but the later ones are a little deeper and the later pump sits lower also. One small item is a water line, 8MM that comes off the block somewhere on the intake side of the block, just above the starter I think it is. You will need to drill and tap this for the water line, the later engines don't use it but the casting has a boss on it that you can drill and tap. The early valve cover is also required. But the basic stuff like the intake and exhaust manifolds are a direct bolt up.
