As I recall from my 90 735 (same M30 motor) there is a pin that should be at 7:30. The top screw should be at noon; the bottom screw is 6:30 because the sprocket screws are NOT symmetrical. All measurements pretend the top of the block (and head) is horizontal. You can measure them vs the top of the head. I used a carpenter's square and aligned the top screw and the center of the cam. Seems when I set the crank at TDC the top screw also lined up with the infamous oil sprayer bar.

When setting Camshaft Sprocket it says to set it at 7 oclock. DOes anyone know if that is if the engine is in the car or sitting outside the car. My car runs Very Very rough and i was wondering if this may be the problem!?!
