Not too bad, not as good as the 5 speeds, but the three speed auto's are much more reliable than the later 4 speed box. And if they are a problem, they are a basic auto that anyone who can work on an A/T can fix, no special tricks and not particlurly expensive. (all things being relative) They only seem weak because the rest of the car never breaks!
