just bought ???? need some help (archive)

hi guys i just bought a 1989 525
the prob is i want to reset the check lights???
anybody got any ideas
the car has just been serviced new oil and plugs and filter
i also have a prob when its cold
it jumps fron 500 rpm to 1000 rpm
only for about 5 mins,when cold
does not seem to do this when its warmed up
any ideas??
