Theres a guy at our local track running a e21 '330i Alpina'..who ways its an original Alpina. When I asked him what kind of engine was in there, he said 'its from a '81 528'. Previously, before looking at the car, only knowing he had a 'e21 Alpina', I had asked him if it had a m20 in there..and I got a blank stare. Enough about that.

Anyways, what are the specs on the '82 528 engine? I know nothing about e12's; was it a 2.8l baby6 or the big6? Different flavors?

The E21 alpina B6 is based upon the 323 with a 528i M30 engine under the hood. The euro 82' 528i engine is still an l-jet equipped M30 engine. The US 528e had the smaller "baby six" M20 engine, they are not the same...
