: Is it possible to fit a brakedisc from e30 to e21? I own a ´81 320/6 with non-ventilated disks at front and drums at rear. And I was thinking about changing to vented discs at front and discs at rear. Has anybody done similiar things like that? Any info will greatly appriciated.
The e-30 disc has a larger diameter and shallower offset requiring adapters to mount up, plus different calipers than what you now have. Also you would have to have 14" or larger wheels and the wheel offset might become a major problem. In summation, this is not the approach that I would pursue......
What is the objective of your brake up-grade? If we know what complaint(s) you have with the oem system, we might be able to post opinions that could save time, effort and money.
Also, the 323 brakes suggested by Ed Walker are the same as found on the '77 320i (fronts only).
The strut (and hub) used on the 323 and '77 320i was actually different allowing for a beefier stub axle, but the mounting bracket configuration for the caliper is possibly the same. His suggestion is worth checking, and if there is a difference you could always get the struts and hubs to go with the calipers and rotors.
Good luck.
