There should be a metal line that runs under the radiator or thereabouts that goes down the passenger side of the car back to the gas tank, I had a hard time finding mine too. Make sure that the carbon filter is good so that this works properly. Mine was bad so I have since bypassed it along with rest of the emissions, the only vacuum I have left is to the dist. and the rest of the big ones for warm up and so forth. Thank god for no emissions here.

: I have an 83 320i. An activated carbon filter is located under the battery. It has two hoses; one goes to the intake manifold, and the other one is "supposed" to go back to the fuel tank. Well that one is rotted off. I can't find anything to connect to in the engine compartment.
: Does anyone know where this line runs.

: This is another source of a vaccum leak ! You may want to check yours out. If you do Please tell me where the small line runs and connects.
: Thanks,
: Nello
