: Hello,
: I have a 1502 with 2,0block/E12 head, 300° BMW-cam, dual 45dcoe weber, headers, compression 10,5:1 with 180hp @6600rpm. The engine runs good from 2500rpm up to 7500rpm. Real power over 4000rpm.
: With a 304° Schrick cam and higher compression you can get up to 200hp. Runs quite good on street.
: When thatīs not enough, take 48dcoe and a 316° cam. But the engine runs quite bad under 4000rpm.
: (not real for street)
: To install the complete 323i tech in the 320 is a good solution, because the small six is quite powerful and runs very smooth. With CIS and 2,3 you can reach up to 200hp. I have a 2,7l engine with CIS and I have about 230hp.
: To put the M3 4-cyl.engine in a E21 is not a real problem but quite expensive.
: Here in Germany we have E21 with M5 engines (3,5-24V to 3,8-24V) or big six turbo engines.
: I know people who put V8 (740i) and V12 (750i) in the BMW E21/E30
: Everything is possible (when you have te money...)

I had a 78 320 Sport package with a modified engine, 304 cam, 45 Webers, headers and it produced roughly 185 hp. It was very streetable and would show a thing or two to Mustangs and Camaros. I also had a 2002 with 12.5+ compression and the same basic set-up otherwise, but it was not good for street use. It produced over 200 hp.
The best thing was hearing the sound when passing someone at 7000rpm and over;-)
