Not that I have got around to trying it, but the bell housings match up for the big six motor and the standard e21 manual gearboxes. So in theory you could get away with using your original gearbox at least until you burn it up with the big motor.

Your biggest problem will be dealing with the weight of the big six in such a little car, but I believe Alpina does have the correct springs available.
