broke down (sob story) (archive)

Just in case anyone cares, my 79 320i broke down today and reminded me of a recent post, car ran like crap just before it died, started back up and didnt want to rev, finally did rev and thought all was allright and it happened again. This time it wouldnt start again, got stuck in a turn lane in Florida (hot f___ing day too) and a cop helped me push. 3-4 hours of trouble shooting and broke one of the plastic fuel lines trying to see if I was getting fuel, swapped a coil, cleaned rotor and cap, looking at the wiring, etc.,etc.,etc., any idea what the problem was???

BAD CONNECTION AT THE FUEL PUMP!
