I currently have a 323 track car, owned a 89M3 for 3 years, and have owned several late model 6 cylinder cars as well as 3 2002s... For my money and time, I would work on the 323 in line 6 - 200hp is not impossible, and it's such a smoother, nice engine than the fast but rough M3. Plus, the sound of a tuned BMW 6 at 6500rpm...
