I have an '83 320is -- wife's daily driver and totally dependable. She'd really rase hell with me if it wasn't.

Usual disclaimers apply. Find out the book value. These cars have no real traps to look out for. But if you don't know BMWs have an experienced mechanic check it for you, for your own peace of mind, if nothing else.
