I don't consider some rust on floor panel under the driver seat as a fatal rust.I think it's not very difficult to weld there. Check the main frame especially those under the engine bay & the ft. & rear shock towers ( where the top portion that your shocks were mounted ). If you found these two areas has kind of heavy rust, I will warn you that you may need to spend a lot of money & time to save its ass.

Once the metal has been welded, its not as strong as in before. Since the heat of welding will damange the structure of the metal, your chassic will not as strong as before. Couple years after, the same area w/ get rust again. The outside sheets are no problem coz' you can just get a new one instead. If its on chassic, welding seems the only solution unless you swap everything to a rust free chassic.

Its all about time, patient & money on body work. I understand most of us want to get our E21 to a show quality from in & out but just enjoy what you got now, plan to do some major works when you have spare money.

Show quality E21 impressed me a lot but the driving feeling of E21 is more impressive.
