Kits are readily available to uses a Sanden compressor on most BMW's. Might try someone like NOPI in Atlanta.


: Regarding the '78 320i which my son dragged home last spring: it has "factory air" with a Baer compressor of the old-fashioned piston type which seems to have been siezed up for years, judging from the amount of rust on the pulleys. Can this be replaced with a more modern type of compressor without too many other changes?
