e30 better? (archive)

I am looking to get a new bmw, and I am stumped about what kind of car to get. I owned a 1983 320i and it was the best car I ever had. I want more power though, and the e30 delivers. I am debating between the e30 and e21. I do all of my own work on my cars, so the simpler 320i looks good. But I also like having a decent a/c (it gets hot as hell in Texas) and more HP under the hood. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
