starting my 320i (archive)

plse. advise me how to repair the hard starting of my 1980 BMW
320i. if it starts, then if i go somewhere and stop the engine then it may not start again. the day i took
it for a tune up, the next day i had the same problem.
i'm trying to correct this starting problem so i can get it smoged certified in calif., then possibly sell it. sooo please help me someone !
