Billy, this is a tough one. Did the tuneup include all the normal things such as:
Spark plugs
Rotor and cap
New spark plug wires
Check of the coil
Timing at specified setting
New O2 sensor
New fuel filter
Fuel system cleaner (like Chevron's Techron)
New air filter
Clean battery posts and clamps
Check to be sure all vacuum lines are attached and tight
Check that dipstick gasket is tight
Check that all fuses are clean and making contact
Alternator sending out correct voltage

Note that this car really does need all its vacuum lines or it will not run well. If a previous owner has monkeyed around and removed things, it will be hard to get your 320i to work properly (or at least to pass smog standards).
