Maybe you want to try the recaros from the european make of car OPEL.. modell Kadett. In the early 80s, they had recaros that are the same as the E21 recaros besides the extensible part of the bottom of the seat... (check pic on my site for the real E21 part).
I have a friend here who fitted these Opel seart into his 320-6 and had no problem doing it... just unbolt the seat from the regular frame and bolt the Recaro back in position... no drilling required.
I know OPEL is a make of General Motors, but i am not sure if an equivalent modell was sold in the USA.
