I found a semi nice little 78 with auto. Interior is in good shape. I thought it would make a great parts car for the dollars....all 250 of 'em.....
The person that owned it said it wouldn't start. I said no prob, towed it home and started tinkering.....
First thing I found was the battery in reverse polarity. Geez. I checked the fuse box to see what might be fried and found fuses wrapped with aluminum foil....oh boy....
Anyway, replaced that foiled fuses, popped in a known good battery and.......it started! NO kidding! Ran like crap, but started.
Ok... replaced points, plugs, rotor and condenser. ( The condensor wire had been cut and then rewrapped.....wow.
Now it runs smooth but setting the timing has been a real job. Can't seem to get it right. At least not yet...

Anyway, this parts car is turning into a runable ( is that a word) car. Plus it's straight except for a bit of bondo around the fuel filler door...
Brakes are next......

I feel good :-)
