Here's an interesting bit of info. After intense research, I found a guy in Seattle in a machine shop that insist's that the camshaft out of a 325ix is the way to go. He says that it's the "hottest" stateside factory cam for my particular project, a 2.7l eta motor in a 1980 323i. I'm going for it. What a relief. The cost difference is almost $500 when comparing to a schrick and replacement springs.
