323i running rich (archive)

My 81 323i is running a bit rich. Strong odor of unburned gas, slightly fouling spark plugs. What could be causing this? Dirty injectors? Could it be I have to get the fuel distribution pump adjusted? I don't think it's a vaccum leak.Thanks for your help.
