: I recently had to replace the pully to the alternator on an 83' 320i. What was supposed to be a simple replacement has turned into a nightmare. Before I replace the pully I went ahead and bought a new alternator as well. When I put everything together, the battery would not charge and drain slowly. I have put in a distrbution block, have made connections that go to the alternator, that looked fishy, better and tried a new ground and a new power line. THe next step is to get the alternator tested. If anyone one has any ideas it would be greatly appreciated. THanks

Check That Alternater "Indicator Dash Light" bulb..It'll never charge up ...unless the bulb ...is Good...Hope this helps
