: : Looking at 81 320i BMW, what should I look out for, and what's expected price range.

: : Thanks in advance

: : Have seen them sell from $1000-$2500 depending on mileage and condition. Check for rust at the frame rails and at the edge of the trunk and taillights. Also check that the speedometer works and the heater control cables move freely.

if you live in the southern part of the US don't buy it. the ac sucks and there is nothing you can do about it. the only came with 90 horses and it will cost you 2 grand to rebuild the motor. they are loud underpowered and dangerous in the rain. i am on my 2nd one paid 1300 for it in dec of 97. the one thing i do like about mine is that it runs and runs and runs. if i where you i would spend another thousand or two and buy a clean 325i, 325is or even better is the 325e.i live in dallas and ac is a must mine works but barely
