Hi all-

Hopefully some of the racers on this list can offer some advice. I'd like to start racing and have been looking for a car - I haven't had much luck finding one already built so I'm considering the idea of building one myself. I know the financials aren't great for that, but I could use the mechanical experience, as well as the ability to pay for it over time. :)

I'm looking at a '83 320i tomorrow evening which would be the basis for this project. Is it likely to be at all competitive in SCCA ITB or it's class in Club Racing? I know I've seen at least one 320i racecar for sale in a recent Roundel, so I'm not the first person with this idea.

Any help, advice, or comments are greatly appreciated!
