Just had it happen to me on my been sitting around for a while 82 320 and I just took the pump off and filled it up with wd40 and let it sit for a while then applied power the right way and the wrong way. once i got it going it blew all the crud out and has been fine for several weeks.

: The fuel pump on my friends 3-series seized up yesterday. I've taken it off the car and bench tested it and gut feel says there's some gunk obstructing the pump. It tries to move but won't spin, and those who have looked at these pumps before know that there's not much you can do. I tapped on the case but don't know what else to try. I don't have any compressed air available, any other ideas?
