Here is the problem...Turn off the key and the fuel gauge still reads (although it just drops a little) and the battery light stays on. Although this is inconsistent.

I've removed the cover from the bottom of the steering column and I can remove the security screw holding in the ignition lock. I can't get it to budge from there. I can't seem to get the wiring unconnected from the lock either.

Am I on the right track? What am I missing? Your thoughts please.
