323i rear rotor removal (archive)

Today I discovered that it is possible to remove/install rear rotors on a 323i without removing the calipers. All it takes is a few taps with a mallet to move the floating portion out to the point where the piston is just barely touching the backside of the old rotor.

Unfortunately, I made this discovery after I broke one of the caliper bolts while attempting to unbolt the caliper!

This goes along with the new crack I found in my exhaust and a possible leak in my left rear shock.

It's been a wonderful holiday weekend up here so far.
