I recently installed a Sony CDX 3500 single CD unit & it plays perfect even w/ my lowering sport suspension on bumpy road.
Sony claims that the CDX 3500 & 4500 are capable upto 60 degree installation angle. I'm sure our car is more than that but it still plays perfect.
I believe that you still can order the flat center console from a local dealer but it only fits the model w/out A/C.
