WHAT'S GOING ON W/ MY BMW?!? (archive)

OK - extra points for anyone who can figure this out. I have a '91 BMW 318i. Please keep in mind that I have zero mechanical skills. Last night the hazard lights on my car started go off by themselves - hadn't event touched the hazard button, and I don't have a car alarm, car was parked with engine off. I thought there might a problem with the fuse, so I popped the hood and pulled out the fuse for the hazard lights - lights still flashed even w/ the fuse out. I started my car engine (in hopes it might do something) - it didn't. It was getting late so I disconnected the battery (so flashers wouldn't wear down battery) This morning, reconnected battery - lights still flash and now my car won't start. I made sure the battery was tightly reconnected, etc..Any thoughts, ideas, suggestions are greatly appreciated!!!
