: Question to other 320i owners: If you rap on the clear plastic that covers the gauges, speedometer, etc. on your car, do your fuel and/or temp gauges also move?

: Mine do, is that normal?
My 528i did that, and the problem turned out to be the contacts where wore harness plugs into the instrument panel. Cured by cleaning the copper strips with typing eraser and a little contact cleaner.

: Also, my speedometer needed jumps around a lot, whether I'm idling or driving at freeway speeds. Any clues?
Could be the gage itself, or the speedometer cable. Check the cable to see if it'w making any noise (little clicking sound).
