My 320/6 is back on the road as of yesterday, since I solved the spark problem, with a new-out-of-the-box Pierburg (solex copy) 4bbl. The old Solex had sticky secondaries. The problem is that it is running way too rich, and has an intermittent bad miss upon light throttle acceleration. Harder acceleration cleans it up, especially when the RPM gets above 2500. Also sometimes it stumbles and dies at idle, but the idle doesn't sound lumpy rich. Usually, it runs pretty well, then takes these little "spells". The mileage is terrible, too.Is there a way to check and set the float level w/o disassembling the carb?.
Is there an adjustment for the fast idle solenoids?
Is there a proceedure for adjusting the moveable metering rods?
Should I bite the bullet and install a Holley? (I KNOW about those..)
Will a CIS system from a 323 fit the 2-liter 6 cyl. head?
How much trouble are the electrics for it to adapt? I have two, and they are getting more attractive every mile at $1.65/ gallon US and with these driveability problems. There seems to be no provision in the fuse/relay box or the wireing harness for the required controls, either.
TIA, Tom
