I think you are refering to the front strut housing diameter.

All 323i have 51mm. All other E-21 have 45mm EXCEPT when equipped with a SPORT or MOTORSPORT suspension. (Not US)

There is also a "Tropical" suspension listed, and I'm not sure about it.

You can measure the front strut tube ID. I'd guess in all likleyhood it has 45mm.
