Moving parts from an e23 into an e21? (archive)

I own a US '82 320i, I have a neighbor with a 733i, year unknown. Has anyone done an engine swap, putting the 3.3 into an e21? How about any of the other parts, differential, tranny, etc.

I'm wondering if seeking to buy the 733i is work pursuing. Thanks for the input!
